Our own Gary Younghans will be teaching the “Connecting the Body of Christ” study series beginning July 13th, 2008 and continuing for four sessions. Classes will be held directly after the worship services, beginning at 12:30pm. A light lunch will be provided, and childcare is available upon request.
The Bible Study “Connecting the Body of Christ” was written to spark thought and discussion among church members regarding the people of God caring for one another in many different ways.
This study particularly focuses in on the concept of believers providing support and guidance for other believers who are struggling emotionally, behaviorally, and spiritually. It seeks to encourage Christians to look to the Word of God where, through enlightenment by the Holy Spirit, they will find godly principles for life that they can use themselves and share with others.
As class members move through the study, they will be reminded of how the Body of Believers, with Christ as its Head, functions together for the growth of the church. Members will identify ways that they can serve. Finally, the participants will be introduced to Cross Connections, a ministry which provides opportunities for lay people to receive formalized training in specific areas of Christ-centered counseling.
