Volunteer Spotlight: Sound Ministry

Aboite is very blessed to have a dedicated worship band to help us spread the Word, and a dedicated team of sound volunteers help make it happen! Sound volunteers come an hour before the worship service to coordinate with Pastor and the worship leader, run the equipment during the worship service, and shut it all down after the service. We are grateful to these volunteers for their service. We currently have two opportunities to get involved in this vital ministry. The time commitment ranges from 2-6 hours per month, during the Sunday and Monday worship services. No technical experience is necessary, however we prefer that volunteers have some musical knowledge before training. If you’d like more information, see any sound technician after a service or contact dave@aboitechurch.org to see if you’d be a good fit!

Please bring in your used plastic grocery bags and place them in the collection bin, located inside the door at the west entrance by the offices. We will transport them to Community Harvest Food Bank to assist them in their ministry to the hungry in our community. To get more involved in this ministry, please contact tama@aboitechurch.org

After much anticipation, our newest church directory is here! Copies are for sale for $5.00 each at the Welcome Center before and after service. Kelly, Fred, Marcia and Tama all worked very hard to make this a reality for us. If you see them, please say “thanks”! If you missed the opportunity to be photographed, stay tuned as we add to the next directory scheduled for this fall. Since our volunteers put it together, we plan to update more frequently. Stop by the welcome center to buy one for your family!

Nailing Our Sins to the Cross

The Good Friday Worship service held tonight featured a rite where participants wrote their name or a sin he/she struggles with on a card and then nailed it to one of the wooden crosses positioned on the stage. After the service ended, Pastor took the cards off of the cross and burned them at the foot of our memorial cross outside. Check out the photo album on our Facebook page and the video of the burning sins on YouTube.
