“Caring Hands” Ministry Serves Homeless of Fort Wayne

Aboite Lutheran Church supports “The Caring Hands Ministry,” a Christ-centered ministry that serves the homeless of Fort Wayne each Sunday morning – with a worship service and a meal. This ministry gathers at Freimann Square when the weather is warm or at the Rescue Mission during inclement weather. Once a month, ALC participates by gathering at the church at 7:30am to prepare brown-bag lunches and deliver them downtown. Directly following the homeless worship service, we serve a hot meal and distribute the packed lunches. Volunteers return to Aboite by around 9:30am.  The next event date is November 23, 2014

We are also collecting items for the Caring Hands Ministry to hand out to the homeless. There is a large white box labeled “homeless ministry” at both entrances of ALC.

List of needed items:

Blankets
Rain Ponchos
Socks/Underwear
Gloves/hats winter jackets
Garbage bags
Flashlights
Toothbrush/Toothpaste
Energy Bars
Candles and matches
