Betty Kast and Ron Kopke with daughter Katie serve at the American Cancer Society’s Daffodil Days.

On Palm Sunday, March 16th, 2008, our church canceled regular morning worship services. Instead our members went out into the community to put our faith in action. Over one hundred people participated in service projects in the community, while many others stayed at the church and participated in a supply drive for Charis House. Projects included serving at the Love Church, Friends of the Third World, Cancer Services, Mad Anthonys Children’s Hope Hospitality House, Concordia Seminary, American Cancer Society, Unto Others, and the Lutheran Home Retirement Community. We then celebrated with a dinner that evening that included a photo slideshow and testimonials from the day. See the photo album on our Flickr.com here.

What a powerful beginning for Faith in Action. Many wonderful hard working volunteers put in such a wonderful effort to make the over all day a incredible success. Now we need to really get the small group process going, so we can include Faith in Action into our continuing expression of Love for the community. As members of the committee who worked with the church staff,on Pastor’s Dream, we want to say thank you to all in helping make this a wonderful beginning.
