Forty-nine Hams Delivered to Harvester Ave Food Bank
Aboite members donated forty-nine Christmas hams to the Harvester Ave Missionary Church Food Bank, and they were distributed to the people they serve last Wednesday.
“Dear Aboite Lutheran Church, It is with great appreciation that we thank you for your generousity in donating 49 hams to out church food bank. Many of these hams were given out on December 14th. Because of your generousity, many families who would have gone without a “special Christams meal” will now have one. We serve a very needy community, and sometimes their needs are overwhelming. Thanks for helping to lighten the load. God’s blessings on you at this Christmas season and always.” –Pastor Dave Binkley from Harvester Missionary.

Rescheduled: CPR/First Aid Class Open to Congregation
If a colleague suddenly slumps over his keyboard and loses consciousness, would you know what to do until emergency medical services arrived? How about if a friend started choking on food and couldn’t breathe at a barbecue this summer? If you haven’t taken CPR training in the last few years, you might want to refresh your skills or learn them for the first time. Aboite is hosting First Aid and CPR training for our nursery staff and volunteers, and we’re opening it up to anyone who wants to attend. The training will be held by American Heart Association certified trainer Brian West on Thursday, January 26, 2012 from 6:00pm to 9:00pm at a cost of $30.00 per person. Please RSVP to tama@aboitechurch.org before January 22, 2012.
