Love Church Christmas Drive Continues

All of the gift tags have been taken by Aboite members and guests! If you took a tag, simply pick up the requested item while you’re out shopping with your family. Then wrap the item, attach the tree tag to the outside of the package and return it to the church by December 11th, 2011. Aboite volunteers will organize the gifts and transport them to The Love Church for distribution before Christmas. Thanks for helping make someone’s Christmas a little brighter! Contact tama@aboitechurch.org for more information.

Life’s Too Short To Be Envious

Bucket List: Doing What it Takes to Make Our Lives Count

We don’t like to think about it, but our existence on this planet is finite. We have just a few short decades to make our lives count. Successful Thanksgiving Breakfast

Today’s Thanksgiving Breakfast marked the beginning of Advent. We celebrated with breakfast together, with over 250 people in attendance on a typically low attended holiday weekend. Several members shared their story, several students shared their experience of working at the St. Mary’s Soup Kitchen yesterday, and God’s power was demonstrated when a member donated all forty hams we needed to donate to families in need in southeast Fort Wayne. Our volunteers truly worked as a team to set up, cook and clean up. Thanks to everyone who came and to everyone who helped! Check out the photos on our Facebook page.

Successful Service Event at St. Mary’s Soup Kitchen

This past Saturday our middle school confirmation group got together to serve at the St. Mary’s soup kitchen. About fifteen ALC students and adults prepared and served lunch. Our students worked very hard and were a true example, responding to the call of the Beatitudes to “feed the hungry.” Great job guys! Check out the photo album on our Facebook page. The St. Mary’s Soup Kitchen serves over 300,000 meals per year. To learn more about their ministry or to support them financially, visit: http://www.stmarysfw.org/soup_kitchen
